![]() | In Response To: Doom 3 portal rendering (ehyto) : To make an advanced Marathon engine, I could take from Doom 3 and Aleph One. : Doom 3 and Aleph One are both GPL licensed. : Use Doom 3 portal rendering with polyhedron shaped rooms. : The rooms are convex polyhedron. : Don't use BSP trees, use directed a cyclic graph. : Use mathematical planes to find portals and point in polyhedron. : Collisions with capsule to capsule and capsule to triangle. : Made it with Unity, but I'm looking at OpenTK and object oriented
Did id Tech 4 always support portal rendering? I know it did by the time Prey came out but I don't know about when Doom 3 did 2 years previously.
