Well, now that I found out what he's named after, the AIs have some curious... themes when paired with the player. Leela is the assistant to your Dr. Who. A loyal and kind partner, but at the end of the day, pretty useless. With Durandal, you take the role of Prince Roland and wield him as a sword to slash through the pfhor forces. And Tycho... just what are you to tycho? A telescope? He was some spoiled regal guy who recorded a bunch of accurate star patterns, yet stubbornly clung to aristotle's Earth-centric cosmology, rejecting the correct Copernican heliocentric cosmology. It could be that, like a telescope, you're a tool for him and his confirmation bias.
