Have to agree about the Phantasms in PID. The thing that made the Phantasm so scary was that only one thing would kill them and by the time you saw one you were probably already dead. And that creepy sound they made just before you died.

The Invisible Compilers in Marathon just didn't have the same scare factor (for me anyway) as any weapon would work on them and they just weren't as deadly as the Phantasm. In the end they just got annoying. It was like... "oh my path is blocked"... "invisible dude"... "Blam"... move on. Just had to make sure you weren't holding the rocket launcher when you went... "Blam". ;)
