To put some context on this Matias' page went live on 12 Oct 1994 and Tristan Horn announced ftp.amug.org:pub/marathon on 3 Dec 1994.
So what was Marathon news like in October 1994? Well you had the IMG articles with backstory, screenshots and... yes... "Cyberspace". You had screenshots from Mac software catalogs (General-RADIX has unearthed most of these I am sure). You had Bungie's official announcement in July 1994. You had the folks who played Marathon and bought it at Boston Macworld August 1994. "Just waiting for the boxes... two weeks".
And then there was the Marathon... Beta
Lots of stuff for the 1st Marathon fan site.
