When I said the scopes were useless, I was really only meaning in the functional, in-game sense.
I'm sure there'd be good use for them in-universe, whether by the SO or Blake's BoBs, but I also just prefer the aesthetic of both .44 MMCs without the scope.
I could also see the scope's being optional equipment in a BoB's kit in Boomer's landing parties - perhaps most used no scope, but a BoB marksman would? Certainly it seems like the .44 MMC Mk.II was the main weapon of the BoB forces
