: and their origins offered up in that mod. I can't find the information

Super short version of the Jjaro origin story in Eternal: humans from a doomed future escaped to the distant past and built a great civilization there, gradually merging with their technology. Eventually their biological forms died off because [spoilers], but theircybernetic descendants lived on, possibly joining together with other cybernetic civilizations of other origins, and went on to uplift other species like the S'pht. Those cybernetic descendants eventually discovered how to leave spacetime entirely, possibly joining together with other ascended beings of other origins. Some such ascended beings tried to use their reality-warping power from beyond spacetime toward their own ends, going to war with each other over that in the early universe, becoming the W'rkncacnter. Others, still using the name "Jjaro", dedicated themselves to opposing them, by preserving the timeline exactly as they knew it, including the doomed future (and retro-future) of humanity that lead to their own existence.
