: Let's say for the sake of argument that I have a fully featured, fully
: complete port of Pathways Into Darkness to Aleph One.
: If this existed, it wouldn't use any of the original files directly, but it
: re-uses the same artwork, sounds, dialog, and maps. I don't think PiD is
: technically abandonware, so I'm wondering what would happen if I were to
: make something like this publicly available. I wouldn't want lawyers from
: Bungie to get angry with me.
: I'm assuming this is not a big deal since: * Bungie doesn't still sell PiD,
: and hasn't in ages.
: * Other marathon projects already use shapes/sounds from PiD, and it has
: never been a problem.
: * The game is available on macintosh garden and has been for ages, and Bungie
: has never had it removed.
: But I figured I'd check to see what other people thought about this, in case
: there's any major concern I'm overlooking.
: I mostly did this for fun and to see if I could, but it would be nice to be
: able to make it available to other people, since it would allow people
: without macs to play the game.
