M.C. Control

As I finish work on Bigger Guns Nearby and begin turning my attentions to improving G-4 Sunbathing, I cannot help but wonder what the "M.C." stands for, as there is not an accompanying notation like Death Valley and Dead Sea do. My feeling is to call it "Mare Crisium," after the Moon's "Sea of Crises," in keeping with the theme of macabre geological features.

Does anyone have better guesses or information? I'm sure someone must have noticed and discussed this at some point in the past twenty-four years.
