Hmmm...could have been the same creature. I always assumed it was a kind of beast that had been made extinct long ago in either the wars between the S'Pht clans or the war of the clans against the Pfhor, seeing that the reference was made in a writing from that time and all the ecological damage those wars seemed to have caused. I don't think it would have been the ticks since it's weird to think of a flying creature doing a mating "dance" but who knows?
Whatever the case, I don't think I'd want to meet a Hf'ra'rkc'tal without an MA-75, especially if it was feeling randy...
