They obviously hadn't yet decided on M2's premise yet at that point, but it's not too hard to hand-wring this by just saying that Durandal came back for the SO after realizing that the Pfhor were just going to nuke the colony anyway, and it'd be a waste given how useful the SO could be to Durandal. Or maybe M2 is actually the alternate timeline, and the Tycho timeline from Infinity is the original one (although I still doubt that the SO would have worked for the Pfhor without the universe being at stake). Who knows.

Yeah, it gives credence to the premise that rampant AIs are generally a threat to life, liberty, and the pursuit of thrashedness (whatever that was supposed to mean).
