Still really uncomfortable with applying names to protagonists that were never meant to have them, but apart from that it was a fun read, even if I skimmed over a lot of the references to other things I didn't always get.
It has always been interesting that in PiD we only know the monsters' names from text as we walk over them. Plus I thought that names like Ghouls were free range open to interpretation, and had never even heard your origins story. These are pretty definitive ghouls IMO, and I always really liked how they take to the knife like ... a knife to butter. This whole early game is about saving ammo, and they really help where the Oozes certainly do not. I never noticed their smell though, just saying ;).
Also don't think I had ever seen the blasphemy quote on the not-dead guy, not one that anyone would be likely to find! As for the guy that said NO LIGHTS! I guess they really did think that plus the level title were clues enough, but I didn't figure it out myself. There were a lot of things like that in this game lol.
