Should I brave RED or go to DTB?

So I've completed Rubicon('s Salinger Plank), Tempus Irae, and Eternal (in that order), and my options so far are thus: pick up where I left off in Phoenix or try to make some headway in RED or EVIL.
RED's story sounds very interesting and messed-up, but it's also massively intimidating (not just in the atmosphere, but its alleged cheapness and FOUR BACK-TO-BACK VACUUM LEVELS) and I'm a huge wuss. At the same time, I feel like I'd be missing quite a bit if I resorted to DTB. Any advice?
