There are hints that the PC in PiD may be dead already by the time the game starts. If that's the case then it makes a certain type of sense that he might live long enough, or his body may be preserved long enough, to be a soldier that gets recycled as a battleroid.
Then there's the possibility that the strange dream reality of the pyramid may have altered his body so that he could last/live that long. Also, isn't there an epilogue where it's confirmed that the PC smuggled out certain artifacts from the pyramid, so it's possible that these artifacts helped him survive that long (maybe the epilogue was in the strategy guide, so maybe it's not canon).
