Strife esque update to Aleph One

Strife esque update to Aleph One

After playing the real Strife (the Steam Veteran edition rerelease anyway): an FPS RPG running on id Tech 1 AKA the Doom engine, could Aleph One get similar updates to its source code and all known cross-platform editors to make a similar style game?
Examples could be Pathways 2, Marathon and mods: the semi unbroken locale tour featuring the titular ship, Lh'owon, the Jjaro shield world and Plunn Darr (Pfhor Prime) or even something original like Pimps at Sea or Dreams: the Quest for Ulthar where a random person escapes from the worries to life to find solace in the city of Ulthar in the R.E.M dimension.
