: I hope you don't mind me bumping this thread a decade later.
: I had a thought about Muller's mission. We're told that he went the wrong way
: and turned back at Ascension, but this might not be the true story.
: Consider that Muller responds to alien/pipes but not to musical
: instrument. He's also very knowledgeable about the pyramid, so it doesn't
: fit that he would ignore the blue rune and go the wrong way when he
: already had the pipes (and knew that he needed them, and that they worked
: with the blue rune).
: It seems to me that Muller knew what he was doing. My theory is that Muller
: found another set of Alien Pipes on Ascension, which he needed to go under
: the pyramid. So he didn't go the wrong way at all. I also think he found
: the Gold Key somewhere lying around. As for how he knew so much about the
: pyramid, it's hard to speculate. It seems that he didn't count on the
: Pyramid "awakening" (aka the Dreaming God becoming more active
: and creating monsters) and underestimated the danger, which is why his
: mission ended at the Carnage Room.
: As for why he told his squad that they went the wrong way, and that the Alien
: Pipes were an instrument from Germany - Muller is known to be an evasive
: liar, so there's nothing inconsistent there.
: As an aside, I think the doors at Ground Floor were open when the Special
: Forces squad entered and closed behind them, and that they turned right
: towards Feel the Power.
Can you explain how the NPCs in resident evil got on the other side of those locked doors that needed special keys?
