I assume you mean that Captain Keyes used to control the Pillar of Autumn via a neural connection, because yes, that's correct.

I usually think of it the other way around, with 'maps' meaning the whole thing that the list of saves refers to (like 'Halo', 'Truth & Reconciliation', or 'Assault on the Control Room'), and 'chapters' meaning the little uniquely named segments like Reunion Tour or Belly of the Beast.

I've only ever beaten one level on Legendary (namely, the very first one, the Pillar of Autumn), and I've only done so once or twice, maybe three times max. By contrast, I've played every level on Heroic at least three times, and I've played Pillar of Autumn dozens and dozens of times on Heroic. If only there was a level of difficulty in-between Heroic and Legendary - the former is almost too easy, and the latter is way too hard. That's rushed production for you. :)
