Not sure I knew there was an elevator out of the lava lol. Would have been interesting had there not been :).
The uplink chips are from killing the main enemies in a non-explody fashion, including no fusion for the hunters, just the killing blow though. Installing all of them in the mainly covered slots in the walls makes accessible a lower area, via the terminal, with a mother of all hunters and some more ammo if I recall.
Looking forward to your AMS exploration, that's proper chaos, W'rkncacnter or no W'rkncacnter! If you still have your uplink chips from here, you can save a lot of time though lol.
