Eh, wrong. Here's the quote:
When the Pfhor annihilated Tau Ceti I
recorded the deaths of all twenty-four
thousand colonists as distinguishable
spectrographic pulses flooding over my
sensors. The nine Mjolnir Mark IV cyborgs
were easily separable from the humans in this form.
In other words, they were actually quite easy to distinguish from the humans. Even so, everything you said (other than the last two sentences) made sense. In one timeline, the timeline that Ingue Ferroque edges towards, we are left aboard the Marathon and kidnapped by Tycho when the Pfhor return to sack Tau Ceti. In another timeline, the timeline that M2 (and possibly the Infinity manual and Ne Cede Malis) shows us, we are instead immediately kidnapped by Durandal after we finish the fight aboard the Marathon. I think that works as one way to reconcile Infinity with the earlier games.
