Interesting take on the surgical procedure terminal. I always thought that was how the Pfhor were first trying to implant their slave control device. The bullet to the face explanation is quite appealing though. My only problem is I don't see how the S'pht wouldn't have any concept of what was happening in that case. Clearly they had weapons (perhaps no ballistic or slug throwing ones?) and must have understood something of interrogation. More to the point, regardless of how alien S'pht thinking might be, seeing a Pfhor pointing something at his buddy's face and then the back of his head exploding would seem to be pretty self explanatory.
