Oh god, halfway through I was screaming inside, just by a real damn gun you can fire you fool! This video points out the danger when nerds and geeks have access to, by normal middle-class standards, essentially unlimited funds.

I assume, and I can't remember, that Decker actually fired his pistol in the movie and that the original metal prop gun could thus fire blanks. If you are going to go to that level of 'spergy obsession, at least give me that. Oh, wait, some good, gawd-fearing, Caucasian 'Murican firearms owner already made a real one:
