Nice shortcut. The secret 2X would be easiest to get and wouldn't require the loss of any more Bobs.

I wonder if Cody Miller will use this in his speed run of Marathon?

Of course it won't work from alt cmd start any level, so no use if you are vidding this level. The odd time I have been blasted up onto that ledge by Pfhor bolts but usually not with enough shields to get much further.
