: The other errors are slightly less glaring but nevertheless fairly obvious:

: guarded whatsoever. The game seems to misread the placement data, or

I forgot to mention that when I wrote this I was still testing on Kindergarten. :P
Nevertheless, there is an element of randomness with those Troopers. The time I played through on Normal, the switch in the tiny corridor parallel to the one we start in was guarded by a Trooper, who immediately joined the Fighter ambush at the start without any provocation, but the other two switches were totally unguarded.
I never knew the original Marathon had so much randomness involved.
