Me, too.
It may not be anything much more significant than the fact that whatever fate befell humanity that ended the "golden era" probably prompted evacuations. Extrasolar human colonies figure in Marathon and Halo as well, and we already know that humanity had a presence elsewhere in the solar system before the golden era ended.
Perhaps we'll encounter humans elsewhere in the solar system as we progress?
