In Response To: Re: PID for OS X (Mark Levin) : The source we were provided appears to be Pathways 1.0, which didn't include
Ah, that would explain why control characters aren't being swallowed while you type in the cheat code. The player character keeps twitching around while you type. (The Bungie implementation made a record of control characters, so it could detect when they spelled something interesting, but did not let them pass through to the main game.) : This wasn't fixed, but it was more of a deliberate choice this time. Whenever
I suspected (and feared) that would be your reasoning. OK, your port, your judgment call. I would have made the change, because from seeing the disassembled code it is clear that Bungie intended to scatter the spheres randomly throughout the level instead of considering only 60 possible places (about half of them probably being solid rock and therefore unavailable) to put 20 spheres into, and they themselves would probably have fixed this on a later version. But I understand. I can live with it. In the meantime, I've found another bug. When you restore from a saved game, the displayed date/time doesn't get updated. I noticed this while in the locked room on I'd Rather Be Surfing. An hour into the ordeal, I found myself wanting to start over, but according to the clock I didn't get the hour back. It turns out it's a cosmetic issue. The internal game clock is correct; it's only the displayed clock that remains frozen until the game clock eventually catches up with it again. The workaround is to remove your watch and put it back on again.
