: Don't get me wrong---I'm as guilty of effort underestimation as the next guy.
: But I've lived enough of life to realize that such an effort would take
: many months to more than a year to complete.
I'm not saying it wouldn't take up to a year to complete; I know better than to be so silly. However, I do think it would be easier to make than Aleph One was. If I'm wrong, please tell me, but I still think a port of PiD would be fairly simple (comparatively speaking) to create.
: If you're truly passionate about this idea, what I would encourage you do is
: to think about the steps it would take make a game like PiD, and actually
: start implementing them. I mean this. (Despite the occasional silliness, I
: think you're a fairly intelligent kid.) Whether or not you succeed, you
: will learn a ton about analytic geometry, programming, and the grit it
: takes to see a project through to completion. And all these things are
: incredibly valuable skills in the real world.
Well, to be honest, I actually am planning to make my own game for the iPad someday with the help of Corona SDK, so I guess that sort of counts, somehow. Still, I have a lot on my mind between now and then, so don't expect to see any results on it any time soon.
