I like it from a transparency angle; if you say you've done something with an item but never picked it up, have the bomb but didn't trigger anything on Watch Your Step, etc., you'd be able to figure it out.
I would use this thing! (not that that should come as a surprise to anyont)
: The maps I've posted show the monsters, items, etc. as they are at the start
: of a new game. Of course, that changes pretty quickly, as you kill things
: and grab treasure. I can run my map-generator on a saved game, and get a
: set of maps that reflect the levels at that point instead -- which
: monsters are still alive, which items are still waiting to be picked up,
: which doors are open.
: I can't easily package my tools into a downloadable app, so any
: "apps" I do will be web-based like the inspector. If the map
: builder lives online, I thought, then why not keep the generated maps
: there too, and let anyone browse them?
