Well, perhaps not the file structure, but the technology is similar. I haven't looked at the M1 Map file format much, but I assume it's very similar to M2/M∞ since Forge can read M1 maps (and object placement). Unless Forge has some sort of backwards compatibility. Although, in M1 the Chapter screens are stored in the resource fork in shapes file, as opposed to the map file for M2. Also, aren't sprites in the shapes files are stored in a similar manner in both games? An example of major file differences would be the sound file. In M1 the sounds are stored in resource fork, whereas in M2 they're stored in the resource fork. So, yeah, some similarities and some differences. I suppose a project like that is made a lot easier by having the M2/AO code to work from. Would you split something like this off from the main AO project and make it it's own thing, or keep it as a toggle option or something, within AO?
