: other meaning, and not Lucifer the devil. So just to clarify..in
: Eminescu's poem, the reference is to Venus, the "morning star"
: in Romanian folklore, and not the devil. It's Venus that rises above the
: pine, the good comrade that comes back every day to witness his life and
: the earth...etc.

Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you have appreciated it. I knew it!!! I suspected it wasn't an accurate translation, the word Lucifer comes from Latin (Luce= light)... Romanian as a romance language inherited that word with the sense you described (actually the ROmanian for "the devil" is "dracul", hence "dracula") there's another Eminescu poem called "Lucefarea" which means morning star.
Hehe don't be surprised about any weird cultural references in this forum... I would've expected it ;-)
