I tried drag and drop first, and didn't get any new file out of the process. Although, I wonder if it would have encoded the original files and not changed the filenames, because when I tried MacBinary II+, it created new files suffixed with ".bin.bin" (yes, twice). So maybe Nutcase did work and I just couldn't tell?
