I just felt it would be mean of me not to urge all of us who like Marathon for its analyzable, neverending plot, to read an awesome book. It's not sci-fi or Marathon related in any way - however!
I've never ever come across any story that compares to Marathon's when it comes to intriguing loose ends that are actually possible to tie up (we think, anyway), impossible hidden secrets that people actually find, and that feeling of inexhaustibility that makes us stick around on this forum 12 years after the game came out - until I read House of Leaves.
I just love it SO much. I read it last autumn and it quickly replaced H2G2 as my favorite book of all time. And that was even before it turned out that its Marathonesque secrets were for real and not just those fake loose ends that some people put into their works in feeble attempts to recreate the feeling you get from a proper story such as Marathon's.
I strongly recommend this book to you all. Hooray!
