No, Cortana was the sword of Edward the Confessor and before him Ogier the Dane. Durandal was itself a sword, "of the same steel and temper" as Cortana and Joyeuse (according to an inscription on Cortana), which belonged to Hector of Troy and later, of course, count Roland.
