: I had a similar problem and fixed it by setting my output frequency in
: Utilities\Audio MIDI Setup to 44.1 KHz, a value that I recognized. 96 KHz
: is kinda insane.

: But, when I sought help for this, the very first thing treellama asked me was
: 'Are you running Tiger?' and I certainly am, so you might have a different
: problem altogether, or at the very least a different solution.

That worked! Thank you!

This has been driving my crazy for awhile, I thought my system was screwed up or something. It's actually been affecting other things, for example, before I did exactly what you said (which fixed the problem perfectly) I wasn't getting any sound in anything involving flash animations, or any game which utilized any MIDI sound libraries.

Come to think of it, this is something you might want to put in the Aleph FAQ, as so far it's affected at least 2 different OS X systems.
