In Response To: Re: To Chris of Rubicon X dev team! (treellama)

: It's just Aleph Sigma Recording. Aleph One can't create the recording,
: because no "Data" directory exists in the user's preferences
: directory. One solution is to create said "Data" directory, with
: a script or something. Don't do this.

: A better solution is to change Data/Aleph Sigma Recording to just Aleph Sigma
: Recording, which is the only thing I had to do to get it working in Linux
: (and hence for Windows). Said change is also necessary for users of the
: preview Mac OS X SDL Universal Binary. Only Mac OS X NIBs stores saved
: games / films in the scenario directory, a carryover from Marathon 2 which
: is inappropriate on today's multiuser systems.

: If you like, I can send you a ZIP file with my SDL version (with Aleph Sigma
: Recording fix, and superlog.mml removed, but too lazy to remove bad error
: string overriding in Sigma.mml).

Yes, this would help a lot! Would it be hard to fix the Sigma.mml for windows/ sdl users so they don't run into trouble when starting up the game? Also, can you view the terminals pictures properly? The hud? When it come to make a pc compatible version i'm totally clueless :/

: I dislike the hacky "Data" folder for Maps/Shapes/Sounds/Images
: (why not just put these in the root of the scenario directory where people
: are used to seeing them?), but they shouldn't cause problems.

You probably dislike this, but it work like a charm on Mac OSX, which is the system I made Sigma on, even Chris Lund used that method for Rubicon X, same for the WMAID team, IIRC. Personally I like it, it make thing less messy, much more clean for me, but if changes are needed for the pc version then i'm all for it ;)
Anyway, you can send me the stuff at my email: simon_dupuis@yahoo.com or you can join the hotline server of forerunners and upload it there. Here's the adress:

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
