Ok you wont have much time to do this because I forgot to post it here... please enter... Behold the total conversion map making contest. Sort of like Lysanders contest only it’s a lot less strict. Map types: Simplic7y map: Make the best map you can with only 7 polygons. Simple map: Make the best map you can that is under 350 polygons Gargantuan map: Make the best map over 351 polygons Funky map: Make the greatest speacial effects. Map must still be playable. Alternate shapes and scripting may be used. Obstacel Course: Make the best/ most challenging (not cheap) obstacle course. Like “Turning Up” Race: Make the best race. I.E. a sewer race like “Surfin Sewer”. Scripting may be used. Vacuum Map: Make the best vacuum map. (if it is over 400 polygons it can be entered into the gargantuan map category) Underwater Map: Must be like “Scuba tooling” or “Underwaterena” Scripting can be used. SHLYCS like map: a map that is like shlycs or mini wars Rhapsody Map: A combination of other maps. Must be started from scratch. Scenario Conversion: Change a map’s scenario I.E. Evil to Rubicon. Map must be multiplayer and must be permitted by creator to change. Note that the monsters and textures must change. Map doenst need to be stared from scratch. Map cannot be from infinty to evil or vise versa simply because not much has changed in evil as far as textures go. Maps cannot change from m2 to mI for the same reason. Rules:
Alternate pyshics will be accepted. Scripting for bridges/balconies ONLY unless map type allows it.
Maps from other contests will not be accepted.
Maps must have been started after November 1st. The due date is 1.1.06
Maps may be done in a group
Winners will get their name in the credits of marathon shadow as winners of this contest.
Send your maps to either rapfan227 or eltwixxo (aim).
Maps will be graded on quality, effort, basic aspects (regenerating weapons/ monsters,lighting), realisticness (sound), originality (if needed)
Maps must be readable to NIBS, SDL, and pfhorge. Make them with forge, pfhorge, obed, chisel, or by hand (taking eons)
