Something for the Aleph One to-do list: bring back M1-like Exploration missions.
Maybe it can be enabled in a separate MML file, which could then be downloaded and added to an existing scenario install. Presumably it wouldn't affect existing savegames from that level.
If there's another revision of M1A1, they could just make the objective easier by reducing the number of polygons to explore, marking them somehow, or removing the exploration mission. I don't know if that's more or less likely.
: Pretty close. M1 allows you to leave if you have seen every poly marked
: "must be explored". The M2/Infinity/AO engines require the
: player to actually stand on each such poly. So it's not enough to merely
: see each place that must be visited - you have to physically go there.
: BTW, if you don't already know about it, there's a secret pattern buffer on
: the wall to your right when you teleport in in M1A1 - makes finishing a
: whole lot easier.
