I would have guessed the assimilated bobs, but someone else did and didn't get any response. :(

Assimilated BoBs are the work of the Phor whom Durandal used to escape.

The masters could be the Phor, Durandal, or Tycho. I'd guess Phor.

and fist of the righteous
This one has me confused.

raining down fire, though I did not always do so.
The non-assimilated BoBs never blow up when they get ticked off...

what am I?
Assimilated BoBs.

But then again, maybe not. Ring any bells at least?
