To Mark, and to the many others who patrolled the halls, corridors, chambers, and airlooks of the Marathon, making damn sure every Pfhor was dead, that every polygon was in place, that every teleporter worked, a big thank you. You have all proved that the Marathon community is truly special; the ability to beat a game, to be a vidmaster, is certainly praiseworthy. But to defeat said game AND talk about it with insightful and intelligent commentary is rare indeed. Even though I, like many others, remained mostly silent through your ordeal, it does NOT mean that we didn't watch, that we didn't read, on so many occasions fascinated by the reports that were posted here. What other game can boast such a loyal following? What other game could generate so much discussion and debate, nearly six years after its release.................? Doom? He he. So, thank you, to all the Volunteers, and to Hamish, and to Claude and all at b.org, and to the mapmakers, and to all Mjolnir Recons. May we all get to play one another someday! Cheers, -Grasshopper |
