A Mac prefs file won't help you on the PC.

There are many operational differences like this between the PC and Mac versions of Aleph One. Saved games for example, can't live anywhere like they do on the Mac, there's no open dialog - just a window that asks you to select from the saved games stored in a specific location.

It's like they took all the broken fixed-location stupidness of Windows and shoehorned it into Marathon...
