And newer macs come loaded with Classic, so there's no problem running classic apps. The one issue is that Classic doesn't support hardware acceleration on most OS X vintage machines, so you do lose some effects. Also, if problems develop with Classic on a newere machine, you cannot simply reinstall it since you can only boot into OS X. If you need to reinstall OS 9, you need to reinstall your whole sysem using the disks that came with your computer, and then re-upgrade everything else. |
