There is a Metallica song called "The thing that should not be", which in a strange way reminds me of the marine in marathon. Also, there is a line that says "Not dead which eternal lie
stranger eons Death may die", very much like a line from lovecrafts The Call of Cthulhu (Aeons instead of eons) also, their is another song by metallica called "call of Katulu", named for Lovecrafts story. Intersting, no?
