Eternal dead end (spoilers)

Maybe I missed something, but this shouldn´t happen. Getting stuck and not being able to go on or return? Bad design. The 3rd time I had to quit and restart my saved game to try something else, I decided to take a screenshot and post this. Also, many terminals don´t work including that one near that door where I´m stuck, that maybe part of the level design, but there´s also a shield recharger with no sound.
