Oni and Myth

Oni and Myth

Before clicking on the link, you already knew what was coming.
I've read the Myth story page and found it vague as far as connections go.
There is no Oni story page, and I've never finished it (PS2 verison sucked).
So, my question being... how do they fit?
I thought that with Myth there was some connection to Marathon in the Great Void that you throw Balor's head into at the end of TFL, but I've never seen any real theories. As far as Oni goes, I've never seen anything at all about it.
