It was a secret site, part of one of the greatest online puzzles I've ever seen. (Hi Mikey-san!) Those seven glyphs at the top of the main www.bungie.org were the only clue given to it's existance, and nobody even mentioned that they WERE a clue... someone just figured it out, years after the design went live, and the puzzling began. Eventually we figured out the URL for arrival.bungie.org, and then began looking for the password, both of which are also hidden in those glyphs.
So it's still password-protected to remind people of all the hard work it took for us to give you guys access to these documents. If you don't know the user/pass, you have to ask or look it up, and you'll find out this history of the site in the process.
