: What does mesh-pose creating in Meshwork involve? Wouldn't it just be
: changing bone-poses and saving the result as a .mesh file?
Yes, it does.
The trouble for animating is one has no overview if the created poses do make a nice animated loop. It's just piling different poses together in the hope it 'clicks'. If there would be a kind of animated preview (different app?) this problem would be solved.
And it is a BIG problem, creating animated loops is a real time-consuming and higly critical proces, otherwise you get bouncing Hulks with spastic movements, instead of a fluid nice lumber. It's funny how important animation is, even if the model consists out of 1 block and a sphere, with decent animation it can be a life-like monster, without decent animation it is 'just something wobling', hence the word animation=bringing to life :).
