I overheard a very cute goth chick one time say something along the lines of "We gotta get 'em young, before the sports do!" I believe it was in reference to pulling in more younger kids to our Rocky shows. And honestly, all you young guys out there (which are the main focus of both sports and violent video games), which sounds more appealing? Running around in tight pants slapping other guys on the ass, or watching mostly-naked attractive young females run around a theater and mack on each other? I mean it's a no brainer, and the latter type of person far more coincides with the gamer stereotype rather than the sports jocks.
Then again, it's a real sad state of affairs these days, for which I mostly blame Sony and their original Playstation launch campaign, that there exists such a thing as "jock games". Even more sad is, Halo is often considered to be one... :-(
