Action movies. They come from action movies.

Ex. yelling/demanding DIE!!! usually results in bad guy/alien critter dying quicker. Point: The yell volume is proportional to how quickly results are achieved. Further examples:

GET OVER HERE NOW!!!
EVERYONE HEAD FOR COVER!!
GIVE ME THAT!!

So it only logical to expect that typing something in all caps would yield similar results.
