Yoss,
The concepts you've fleshed out in "Waves" excited my creative Marathon side - particularly in relation to the Un'Pfhor.
It is an assumed concept on my part, but the (Un')Pfhor are/were not one of the Jjaro client races - they arose from the genetic mire on Pfhor Prime at some point, and climbed the evolutionary ladder until the Queen stepped in.
What knowledge would the Jjaro (Toth-era constructs in particular) have about the ancient universe - including the Un'Pfhor?
In my thinking, the Queen is / was the only surviving biological form that remembered the pre-Pfhor empire as it once was - yet, there still existed a few external Jjaro AI's observing the cosmos during this epoch.
It would be really interesting to thread the tale of the Nahk's rise, and recorded fall to the hands of the newly formed, [ post Un'Pfhor ] empire.
The Nahk provide one of the few examples we have in Marathon cannon of the Pfhor empire being brought to its knees - something that seems odd taken in the context of the vast Empire found in the Trilogy.
Perhaps a few hundred years after the Un'Pfhor conversion to "Pfhor", the empire was still 'working out the bugs' of it's assimilation protocols [no pun intended!].
