: I'm guessing that the S'pht Logon T-shirt you bought didn't boost your
: maturity level any. Tisk-Tisk.
: I'm trying to phase out my "Ernie" user name, in leu of my real
: name. As Steve L. once mentioned, it's a sign of ones maturity to use your
: real name on the internet.
A statement I dispute, as laid out here; the response to which (here) I also find questionable if not incorrect, though others made that point: using your real name is no guarantee whatsoever that you do not create an online persona, and the other side of the coin, that an alias, the opposite. I don't see how not being comfortable with one's personality is any likelier to cause one to assume an alias than it is to cause one to invent a persona for use online with one's real name. I, personally, am comfortable with who I am and the only difference here is the fact that I am known as Lunair. You of course have no data points besides my word -- but the sword (Joyeuse, perhaps?) cuts both ways. And so I maintain my disagreement with "the use of one's own name tends to be a mark of maturity".
: Take from that what you want S|phonopho. : )
Indeed!
