Steve, Matt: thanks for your posts.
While it was indeed the easy route for the Rubicon team to walk away from the merger of Infinity - it leaves WMaiD in an interesting, yet confusing situation.
I really want to tie this together in a satisfying way with WMaiD, but I'm at a stand still story wise as far as explaining why exactly the un-merge would take place.

My straightforward approach involves the "oil-water" concept:
Durandal, being so very one sided in his approach to getting what he wants (the ends justify the means, as he frequently justifies) after being his (predestined) merger with the balance obsessed Toth just seems to move towards one conclusion.

Eventually, their sub routines were going to come into conflict. One entity would gain power over the other (akin to an person with a multiple personality disorder?). The suppressed identity would still reside, but could only surface if the primary was (in terms of an computer AI) damaged, or weakened. Perhaps by an attack on an AI's core?

Steve: As far as my concept for the Jjaro AI residing within the Jjaro outpost world - it would be better suited that the entity was described like a swarm of headless bees - independent routines within the outpost world, creating an borderline sentient shell. One, which another, properly fitted AI could return to. This allows the Toth AI to continue onward in the Mara-verse long after the events around the Rogue Star.

Scifiteki (Matt), Steve, and any other interested parties: I'd love to work together on WMaiD's current storyline involving this un-merger + other events if you have the time to spare. I appreciate everyones intellectual contributions to this project. :D

Best regards,
-Blayne
