: The only gripe I have is a very minor one and one that I see often in
: Marathon scenarios. The PB on the next level is not seen until almost the
: end of the level. Thus, there is a strong likelihood of dying before
: reaching it. In "Hot Potatoe", the player has a moderately long
: run to make from the PB to the exit terminal. It can be somewhat annoying
: to have to make that long run each time you die in the next level and have
: to start over. I would encourage mapmakers to be conscious of this
: situation and design their future maps so as to avoid long runs from PB to
: exit, especially when there is no PB at the beginning of the next level.
: To be fair, the run from the PB to exit in "Hot Potatoe" is
: certainly not terribly long, and I have seen much longer ones, but I did
: find it mildly annoying until I finally figured out the next level.

I would like to echo John's comment. The PB on the next level is at the very end. After numerous attempts, I ended up reverting to playing the next level on Kindergarten until I found my way, then I upped the difficulty back to TC - certainly not a preferred technique. There is a perfect place for a PB on Potato - there are two bridges over the entrance to the exit room, one of which contains the switch to open access to the exit terminal. I would strongly recommend that a PB be placed on the other bridge. This is a perfect location because it is very near the exit, but removed enough to prevent the player from accessing it frequently during major fights.
